Collection: About Our Workshops

Workshop Breakdown
All workshops are facilitated and lead by Ala' Al-Thibeh. Each workshop includes step-by-step instructions and design keys created by Tatreez Studio. Tatreez kits are provided with all required materials for each participant. By the end of each workshop, participants will leave with an understanding of the history, culture and a new skill that can be practiced and developed. Workshops are divided into three parts:
Part One: Historical Analysis
Each workshop begins with a historical analysis and cultural context of Palestinian Tatreez. We will discuss some variations between different Palestinians regions, relevance, resources and how Palestinian embroidery has changed after 1948.
Part Two: Demonstration & Guided Stitching
In this part of the workshop, participants will engage in a demonstration and guided stitching. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the process of fundamentals of Tatreez and starting a new project.
Part Three: Tatreezing!
All the participants will receive a Tatreez motif to cross-stitch on their own.
*Workshops are available for three age groups: ages 6-12, ages 13-17, and ages 18 & up. Please inquire further about workshops for children and youth.
